The artist's use of Nashiji technique has truly elevated this piece with an air of luxury and sophistication while the masterful use of Togidashi-Taka Maki-e, as well as Raden and Rankaku techniques capture your imagination and bring your focus to the dragonflies celebrating the rising sun in this mystical scene.

Shishiai Togidashi Maki-e is a masterful combination of Taka Maki-e and Togidashi Maki-e that also incorporate Rankaku and Raden Maki-e techniques to create a true natural oasis. The movement and energy from the Koi jumping up with their life-like scales, the ripples in the water, and the beauty of the lotus flowers depict a truly magical place.
